The Division of Cancer Surgery incorporates The Departments of Surgical Oncology, Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine, and The Perioperative Service.
It provides a comprehensive anaesthetic and surgical service for patients requiring surgery for cancer, excluding neurosurgery and thoracic surgery. Care is delivered through an integrated multidisciplinary approach, utilizing purpose built, state of the art infrastructure. This involves new integrated operating theatres, including intraoperative radiotherapy, 2-D and 3-D laparoscopic equipment, Research is one of the 3 pillars of the Division, along with Clinical Care, and Education and Training. Research includes clinical, translational, and basic science research, and is embedded with the clinical program.
