Awareness Talk on “Prevention of Cancer for Women Students” Conducted at GASC

In commemoration of World Cancer Day, the GASC Alumni Association of Gobi Arts & Science College (Autonomous) organized an impactful awareness talk on “Prevention of Cancer for Women Students” on 10th February 2026 in the KMR Auditorium.

The programme aimed to create awareness among women students about early detection, preventive measures, healthy lifestyle practices, and the importance of timely medical consultation in reducing cancer risks. Esteemed Resource Persons

Dr. M. P. Saranya, BAMS Ayurveda Consultant

Dr. A. Mohanapriya provided valuable insights into common cancers affecting women, including breast and cervical cancer. She emphasized the importance of regular screenings, self-examinations, HPV vaccination, and early diagnosis in improving survival rates. Her presentation highlighted warning signs, risk factors, and modern treatment approaches available in oncology.

Dr. M. P. Saranya complemented the session by discussing preventive healthcare from an Ayurvedic perspective. She stressed the role of balanced nutrition, stress management, hormonal balance, and lifestyle modifications in maintaining overall well-being and strengthening immunity.

Student Participation and Interaction The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from women students across various departments.
