Erode Cancer Center observed ‘World No Tobacco Day’ with much enthusiasm and fervor on Friday, the 31th May 2019. Mr.J.J.Bharathi Founder Selva charitable trust initiated the programme by giving a welcome speech. It was followed by a lighting Kuthu vilakku with a message “ Say No to tobacco” performed jointly by the Doctors and Nursing students of ECC.
Dr.K.Velavan Managing Director, Erode cancer center said conducting a health awareness program was a benefiting activity to help and educate the peoples and staffs.
Dr.Jeevanandham chief guest delivered a speech on World No Tobacco Day, stressing on the need of a tobacco and smoke free world.
Dr.Kathiresan MDRT Resident medical officer and Radiation Oncologist ECC said many people suffered health problems since diagnosis was not done at early stage.
On the occasion, ECC Marketing team prepared posters and displayed them around with messages on the negative effects of the use of tobacco.
No tobacco day Pledge were distributed to the students and the members of staff alike to spread the message on World No Tobacco Day.
The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks given by Mr.Rozario, Service line manager, ECC. The students and staff enjoyed being part of the celebration for a noble cause.
