RADIATION ONCOLOGY TRIALS

The Peter Mac Radiation Oncology department conducts a number of phase I to III clinical trials in a wide range of cancers including prostate, lung, head and neck, breast, lymphoma, bladder, kidney, skin, oesophagus, stomach, liver and central nervous system.

The Department of Radiation Oncology conducts prospective, phase I-III clinical trials involving radiotherapy as combined or single modality treatment in breast, lung, urology, gynaecological, gastrointestinal, head and neck, neurology and skin. Interventions range from Stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy and brachytherapy to intensity-modulated radiation therapy and also investigate combinations of radiotherapy with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies and advanced medical imaging techniques.

Patient cases are discussed in Multidisciplinary meetings. When potential trial participants are identified, patients are referred to the Radiation Oncology Department by Peter Mac surgeons or specialists.
